Sisley, Alfred Biography

French Impressionist artist Alfred Sisley trained in the studio of Gleyre in Paris, and became a member of the Impressionist group; his paintings are similar to fellow French Impressionists Pissarro and Monet. Sisley mainly painted landscapes of the French countryside.
